Project: Museum of Illustration

About

The Museum of Illustration (MOI) is a registered charity founded by Quentin Blake that plans to create the first official home in the UK dedicated solely to the art of illustration.

Brief

The MOI required a website to be built in advance of the actual museum to showcase the work of illustrators starting with the Quentin Blake Archive.

Solution

Working with BOB Design and Supernatural (3D Developers), a virtual gallery was created in Flash using 3D sequences to give the impression of moving through a building. The images in the gallery were controlled by a bespoke content management system built in Javascript. The virtual gallery was used as a prototype for the MOI website project prior to a change of direction in the design route.
